Saint Paul His Life and Work

Born at Tarsus. Died in Rome in C67.
Feast day 29 June same day as Saint Peter.
He was a tent-maker by trade.
Before his conversion to Christianity which is
celebrated in the modern church on 25th January.
He was known as Saul. He became an Apostle
to the Gentiles. Patron Saint of Rope-makers.
His Symbols are sword and book.





He witnessed the death of Stephen Acts chapter 7&8. He was converted to Christianity on the road to Damascus Acts Chapter 9. Paul's First Missionary Journey took him from Antioch in Syria to Salamis, Paphos,  Attalia, Antioch in Pisidia, Iconium, Lystra and Derbe, the same way back to Attila and then Back to Seleucia and Antioch in Syria.. Paul's Second Missionary Journey took him from Antioch in Syria to Derbe, Iconium, Antioch in Pisidia,Troas,  Neapolis, Philippi, Thessalonikaca, Beroea, Corinth, Athens, Cenchreae, Ephesus, Cesarea and back to Antioch in Syria.. Paul's Third Missionary Journey took him from Antioch in Syria to Ephesus, Troas, Philippi, Corinth, Assos, Mitylene, Chios, Samos, Rhodes, Tyre, Ptolmais, Cesarea and Finally Jerusalem.. Paul's Journey to Rome took him from Sidon, to Paphos, Myra, Rhodes, Cyprus, Malta, Syracuse, Puteoli, The Forum of Appias and finally to Rome. Tradition is that he was beheaded at a place now called Tre. Fontaine, and his body buried where the church of Saint Paul now stands. There is some truth to the fact that Peter and Paul were martyred on the same day hence their joint feast day.
